This
track is an exercise in failure. A computer playing two tracks off one
Prince CD at the same time as it is processing feedback. It stops and starts
- there are bits of silence. The sound comes in glassy shards. Everyone
tells me to make it louder, so I do. Dion and Julien are next door playing
so carefully and subtly and I come in like a bull in a china shop.
Apparently in the next room we are all playing together, but I didn't find
this out until later. The failure doesn't end there. A few days later I try
and rerecord this at home but my effects unit breaks and my freeware
programs stop working. Sometimes I feel that it is the best thing I have
ever done.
